SriJitamitratirtha was given to sitting on an island in the Krishna waters along with his disciples in discourse. Once, when the river was in spate, all the disciples came over to the bank. But SriJitamitratirtha stayed on in penance for one full week and returned only after the flood waters receded.
Once again when there were floods, he disappeared under water. All the disciples were at a loss, when he appeared in their dreams and told them he had merged with a gona tree, and that they should perform the rituals of puja etc. to it. People have experienced the truth of this legend. This place is about 20 Km from Krishna station. One has to cross the river and walk at least 6 to 7 Km.
