Once Jambukeshwara of Anegundi fought Mohammad Bin Tughlak, the emperor of Delhi. This became the foundation of Vijayanagar. At a distance of one mile from Anegundi there are Ranganatha Temple, Anjaneya Hill, Pampa Sarovara and Herritage of Shabari. This village has a fort with a trench.
