On the road from Mantralaya to Naguladinne, on the bank of Tunga-Bhadra is the Gurujala Kshetra. There is a special presence of a Saikat Linga of the Maharudradeva who disciplines the mind. It is said that when Sri Rama- chandra came this way in his vanavasa he rested awhile on the banks of Madhawar lake and later came to Gurujala. Here, being impressed with the fine sand on the banks of the river, he created a Saikat Linga from the sand and installed it for puja before proceeding further. The night vigil on Mahashivaratri day is a highlight here.
