The Temples of Tiruchanur – Kankalamurti

Standing with the right leg slightly bent, this deity has four hands. The upper right hand feeds a dog standing at the right bottom and the upper left holds the Kankaladanda on the shoulder. The two lower hands hold objects. Anaga emerges to the right from his body and another rises above the Kankaladanda. There is a woman holding a basket on her head at the left bottom. Jatas flow to the sides of the head of the deity which is adorned with a makuta. The god is decorated with makarakundala, on the right ear and chakrakundala on the left ear, three necklaces, and Yajnopavita.
